Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

The Clearview Center is on the leading edge in substance abuse treatment. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) uses the most recent and most powerful techniques of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) applied to the 12 Steps, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Transactional Analysis. The MI and NLP approaches have created astounding improvements on typical treatment results, and have given us a new non-confrontational, patient approach to clients who were ambivalent or not quite ready for treatment – yeah, those clients who other treatment centers call “treatment resistant”.

All participants have the option of being part of a scientific study evaluating NLP’s effectiveness in treating addiction. IOP is typically 3 hour group sessions 3 times per week (e.g. 6-9pm Mon/Tues/Thurs or 1-4pm MWF) plus a 1-on-1 individual session for a total of 10 hours per week. Two myths I want to dispel right now. Myth: All substance abuse treatment has to be done in groups. Truth: Private pay clients can opt for my individual 1-on-1 IOP program. Myth: The addict has to want to quit. Truth: Part of the addict already wants to quit, it’s just that his or her other parts don’t think it’s possible or they don’t see why they should quit. My job is to help you find your motivation to quit. Everyone who is still breathing has dreams – and drugs are standing in the way of those dreams. The addict needs to know that his or her dreams of a good life are important, and that they can reach those dreams, with drugs out of the way, and with a little help from others.

Aftercare (AC)

The Clearview Center is on the leading edge in Aftercare (AC). Quite often a recovering addict finds that their addiction was a sign of an underlying condition that needs special attention. The popular book, The Alcoholism and Addiction Cure, by Chris Prentiss, points out that addressing the underlying condition is critical to staying clean and sober. I don’t use the word “cure” as Prentiss does, but I use essentially the same methods and have found the same results. Our Aftercare (AC) Program uses the most recent and most powerful techniques of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) applied to the Gorski Program, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy. The MI and NLP approaches have created astounding improvements on typical treatment results, and have given us a new non-confrontational, patient approach to clients who were ambivalent or not quite ready for treatment – yea those clients who Other treatment centers call “treatment resistant”. AC is typically a 1 or one-and-a-half hour 1-on-1 individual session once a week with me, addressing the client’s individual underlying issues. You can feel comfortable and confident giving me a call today so we can start to figure out how to resolve your own unique issues and get you on the road to inner peace, to accomplishing your dreams, to finding the joy the happiness and the love that every human being is meant to have.

Childhood Trauma

Childhood traumas are difficult to address. It takes a huge amount of courage to talk about such things with anyone, even with a therapist who knows how to help. Therapy is difficult to balance – on the one hand, you have to know that the therapist understands and never discounts the effect the trauma has had on you; on the other hand, you have to know that there is hope for stopping the overwhelming flood of emotion that interferes with your life, and hope for living a “normal” (whatever that means to you) and healthy life. We handle such issues with the utmost understanding, tact, and expertise. Please click on the video intro below to learn more. Depression counseling is commonly called Aftercare, since it often follows addiction or in-patient psychiatric treatment.

Grief and Loss

Grief therapy is a much overlooked and very needed process. If we do not take the time to grieve our loss, our unresolved emotions can arise as psychological disorders that seem unconnected to the loss and therefore are very hard to correct.
